No real surprises

On 21 February 2014, the ACCC released its Compliance and Enforcement Policy for 2014 which set out its key priorities for 2014.

In their alert to clients, Wayne Leach, Melissa Monks and Jansy Man conclude that the 2014 enforcement priorities do not represent a marked departure from those identified in previous years. Rather, the ACCC’s vigorous approach to enforcement is equally set to continue, despite the distraction of the government’s broad ranging root and branch review and questions regarding the ACCC’s financial position, with the regulator already signalling the launch of proceedings in respect of many of its priority areas in upcoming months.
