On 16 July 2013, the President and Vice-President of Hong Kong’s Competition Tribunal were appointed by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, on the recommendation of the Judicial Officers Recommendation Commission.

Under the Competition Ordinance, which was passed just over 12 months ago on 14 June 2012, every Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court is also a member of the Competition Tribunal.
